Do not allow yourself, or anyone you know, to be painted with craft paints. These paints were not designed nor meant to be used on skin! Don't be fooled by artists that say their craft paint is safe. The manufactures of craft paints do not formulate their products for face painting, nor are they FDA approved/compliant for use on skin. Many craft paints, such as acrylic, contain non FDA approved chemicals and colorants, such as nickel. Theses chemicals can cause skin reactions.
**Always check what products are being used! Only allow professional FDA approved/compliant water based products to be applied to the skin.**
I use only the best water based face/body art products such as Snazaroo, Mehron/Paradise, Kryolan, and Ben Nye to name just a few. All the ingredients in these products comply with FDA and EU regulation. They are safe and gentle to the skin. All products easily wash off with mild soap and water.
That being said, some people may still have a reaction to these products. Upon request I can do a test patch on the arm to verify an allergy or not. If after 20 minutes no reaction has occurred, I'll be happy to paint the design desired!
However, for health reasons I will NOT paint anyone that is sick, has lice, Eczema, chicken pox, conjunctivitis (pink eye), open cuts, bruises or anyone I deem should not be painted. (This is not an exhaustive list.) If acne is present, depending on the severity, some persons still may have their faces painted. If the face is not an option, then I will be happy to paint something on an arm or leg. This rule will not be compromised.
